the problem

Information regarding ministries at Genesis Petoskey is fragmented across communication channels, making it difficult for attendees to stay informed, engaged, and actively involved.

Genesis Church Petoskey offers a range of impactful programs, particularly for youth. However, individuals who are not already well-connected within the church community often face challenges in accessing information about these opportunities. This lack of accessible communication created a barrier to engagement for guests and people who were "half-in" to the congregation.

the solution

A transformed guest experience, focused on creating an inviting environment and guiding the user through call-to-action pathways for immediate involvement.

Communication Audit

Audited and overhauled an outdated member database, transforming dormant user records into active, multi-channel communication pipelines via GroupMe and SMS updates.

Creation of Story Team

Recruited and led a multidisciplinary Story Team of member creative talent, driving a 46% increase in member engagement and a 54% boost in guest viewership within two weeks.

the process

A solution backed by research into modern church membership, mixed with understanding of northern Michigan culture.

To come to this conclusion, I conducted four varieties of key research activities, listed below.
